SALISBURY, Md. - Richard Lee Shockley 73 of Salisbury died Thursday, February 7, 2013 at his home. Born in Salisbury, he was the son of the late Carroll & Madeline Hitchens Shockley. Mr. Shockley was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church, a former member of the American Legion and Salisbury Moose. He worked for Dealers Building Supply for many years retiring in 2002. He was a U.S. Army veteran. He loved all sports, but truly loved fishing. He loved spending time with his family and especially attending his grandchildren's sporting events.
He is survived by his loving wife, Helen Shockley of Salisbury; daughters: Lori S. Peters and her husband, Bobby of Salisbury, Gail S. Guy and her husband, Matt of Hebron and Karen S. Smith of Salisbury; grandchildren: Riley Peters, Matthew and Lexie Guy, Andrew Shockley and wife, Jacky and Kelsey, Danielle and Allyson Lecates; sister, Deborah Shockley of Ocean Pines; brothers: Carroll C. Shockley and wife, Linda of Berlin and Gary M. Shockley and wife, Debbie of Salisbury; sister-in-laws, Lola Staley of Waseca, MN and Lorna Schmitz and husband, Ken of Purlear, NC; 4 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held Monday, February 11, 2013 at 11:00 am at Holloway Funeral Home with visitation one hour prior to the service. The Rev. Kevin Wackett will officiate. Interment will be in Parsons Cemetery in Salisbury.
