Collectors, Dealers Head To 52nd Annual Postcard Show

Posted: Updated:

SALISBURY, Md. - Avid postcard collectors hit the Wicomico Youth and Civic Center to try to add to their collections.

The Delmarva Postcard Club hosted the 52nd annual Eastern Shore Stamp and Postcard Show. Dealers and club members set up booths of cards, notes and money in attempts to sell their cards. As WMDT found out, if you have a postcard from France or England, it wouldn't be worth much in Salisbury.

"It's a nice souvenir when they used to be there," said George Chevallier, Delmarva Postcard Club president. "As far being valuable around here, a rare card from Salisbury would command a much higher price."

Chevallier says his most valuable card is a postcard of the Stewart Funeral Home in Salisbury. He estimates it to be worth $200, but adds the card is not for sale.
