BERLIN, Md. - Volunteers spread the love for an early Valentine's Day present for some Worcester County youth.
The United Way Young Leaders Society hosted its 3rd Annual Free Valentine's Day Carnival at Berlin Intermediate School. Organizers say its their way to give back to young kids who may not have much in a fun, relaxing environment.
"We've got stations where the kids can make Valentine's to take back to whomever they want to take them back to," said Amy Luppens, United Way assistant director. "They can [also] take them to school."
Brandy Hartstien says that it's a way for kids to "just be a kid [again] and crafts and have fun and just hang out with each other."
Activities included face-painting and cookie decorating, and was accompanied with live entertainment.
