Posted: Updated:

HENRICO, Va. (AP) - Henrico County police say a loaded handgun brandished on school bus by a second-grader came from the boy's home.

Lt. Linda N. Toney tells The Richmond Times-Dispatch (http://bit.ly/Xn3lV6 ) that the gun is owned by a relative.

No charges have been filed.

Police say the 7-year-old boy from Ratcliffe Elementary School made a threatening statement after he took out the gun on Monday morning.

School officials say they found the gun in the student's possession and notified police. No one was injured in the incident.

The incident came less than a week after school officials held a public forum on school safety and security.
