SALISBURY, Md. - Robert "Ben" Thomas Lewis, 78, of Salisbury, went to be with the Lord Jesus on Friday, February 1, 2013 at Coastal Hospice At The Lake. Born in Ocean City, he was the son of the late Vincent "Ben" Robert Lewis and Mary Virginia McClaine Lewis. "Ben" was a graduate of Ocean City High School and Goldey Beacom College in Wilmington, DE. He served in the US Army receiving an honorable discharge. He worked in the carpet service business for over 50 years, owning and operating Ben Lewis's Carpet Service until he retired in 1996. He was an avid NASCAR fan cheering on his favorite racer, Tony Stewart. He was a member of Immanuel Baptist church in Salisbury and enjoyed many years of worship and fellowship. He loved people and made friends wherever he went. He will be missed very much by his family and his friends.
He is survived by his loving wife, Linda Marie Davis Lewis; a son, Robert Ben Lewis (Marie) of Salisbury; a daughter, Dana Elaine Keefe (Roy) of Manchester, PA; 5 step-sons, Robert Lewis Faust (Ann) of Columbia, MD, Edward Faust of Washington DC, Matthew William Parsons of Salisbury, Andrew Daniel Parsons (Dyanna) of Fruitland and David Benson Kohlhoff (Sarah) of Harvest, AL; 19 grandchildren, Robert (Shelly), Jason (Marissa), Christopher (Jennifer), Vincent (Arron), Joshua (Tara), Brandi, Iona, Eleanor, Cedric, Mikka, Matthew V., Matthew W., Casey, Ethan, Jacob, Jaxen, Jamecyn, Hady and Daisy; 8 great grandchildren, Gracie, Ally, Ryan, Lucy, Parker, Carter, Riley and Ashon; and a brother, Benjamin R. Lewis (Diane) of Roanoke, VA; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a wife, Carol Jean Hoppes Lewis and a daughter, Jody Lynn Lewis.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, February 6, 2013 at 11:00 am at the Holloway Funeral Home in Salisbury. There will be a visitation on Tuesday evening from 6-8pm and also on Wednesday one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Berlin. Rev.
