Seven Local Students Headed To State Free Throw Contest

WORCESTER CO., Md. - Seven winners of a local free throw contest are now headed to the state level. On Saturday, February 2nd, in Salisbury, District #22 of the Knights of Columbus held their annual Free Throw Contest.

Officials tell WMDT that seven students from around Worcester County, were winners, and will move on to the State Contest on Sunday, February 17th, in Gambrills, Maryland.

The winners were:
Christine Lizas 10 yrs. old Ocean City Elementary
Zion Shockley  10 yrs. old Berlin Intermediate
Brian Manuel  11 yrs. old Berlin Intermediate
Dierra Smith  12 yrs. old Stephen Decatur Middle
Matthew Kinsey 12 yrs. old Stephen Decatur Middle
Sara Mitrecic  13 yrs. old Stephen Decatur Middle
Austin Taylor  13 yrs. old Worcester Preparatory
