REHOBOTH BEACH, Del. - 3,500 people braved the cold and took a dip in 30 degree waters Sunday at the 22nd annual Lewes Polar Bear Plunge.
The swimmers raised $652,000 to benefit the Special Olympics of Delaware, and organizers say in total, over the past 22 years, the event has raised $6.8 million for the organization.
