Police Looking For Suspects After Delaware Shooting

Posted: Updated:

BRIDGEVILLE, Del. - An early morning shooting in Bridgeville has Delaware State Police looking for two suspects.

It happened around 1:30 a.m. Sunday, February 3, 2012 as troopers were dispatched to a residence in the 12000 block of Ryan Lane near Bridgeville for a reported subject shot.  When they arrived, troopers found an 18 year-old male in the house who had been shot multiple times in the lower torso.  EMTs tended to the victim and he was transported via State Police Helicopter to Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury where he underwent surgery for his wounds.

The investigation revealed the 18 year-old and another male went outside of the home to smoke a cigarette.  At that time, the two were approached by two male suspects wearing masks who then shot at the 18 year old.  The suspects then ran off in an unknown direction.  The victim and the other male ran back into the house where a call was placed to the Emergency Operations Center.

Detectives have determined through preliminary interviews and investigation that this was not a random act, and the victim may have been targeted.  He is currently in stable condition at PRMC.

If anyone has any information in reference to this incident, they are asked to contact Det. King at 302-856-5850 ext. 208 or Delaware Crime Stoppers at 1-800-TIP-3333.  Information may also be provided via the internet at www.tipsubmit.com
