Kent County Mother/Daughter Glam Gurus On A-list Radar

Posted: Updated:

SMYRNA, Del. - A local mother-daughter duo from Kent County is living the high profile life. They met up WMDT's Jemie Lee at the Designer's Edge in Salisbury to tell us what the glam life is all about.

Out of a small town in Delaware, glam girls Tiffany Dawson and Amber Hankins are going straight to the top. From the Wendy Williams show to Project Runway and The View, they're taking the country by storm.

"We were blogging our lives, what we do, and we were getting so many likes. And people were like, 'what are you guys going to do next?' So we started a blog, and the blog got really popular. We had 1 million views in 2011," Tiffany said.

In 2010, Tiffany and Amber launched ultimateglam.com. It's a blog dedicated to living life to the fullest. Whether it's big hair, fancy shoes, eating at a nice restaurant or sporting some bling, it's all about the fab lifestyle - or as Tiffany and Amber call it, 'it's so glam big!'"

Their names went viral when The View's Sherri Shepherd ordered a pair of their custom made shoes and wore them in her wedding.

"I knew somebody would like it, but I really didn't think it would blow up as big as it did, as quickly as it did," Amber said.

They've designed shoes and jewelry for A-list clients like Nicki Minaj, Kimora Lee Simmons, Mary J Blige and Vivica A. Fox.

Taking the red carpet at movie premiers, award shows and celebrity events are now an everyday affair. "I love the celebrity lifestyle. But I don't consider myself to be a celebrity. But I think it's so funny when we go somewhere and a celebrity considers us to be celebrities. They go, 'Tiffany and Amber! There's the glam girls!' And we go, 'wow!' And then other people are looking at us like we're a celebrity. But we're just mother and daughter, but we like the lifestyle," Tiffany said.
