UPDATE: Indian River School District Approves School Improvements

Posted: Updated:

SUSSEX CO., Del. - Big changes are on the way for the Indian River School District.  Monday night, residents voted on a major capital improvement that will allow for the construction of 38 additional classrooms at six area schools: Georgetown Elementary/Georgetown Middle School Complex, North Georgetown Elementary School, East Millsboro Elementary School, Long Neck Elementary School, Phillip C. Showell Elementary School, and Selbyville Middle School.

In the same vote, residents also approved the construction of a new kitchen at the Georgetown Elementary/Georgetown Middle School complex.

These changes don't come without a cost.  There will be a 14.7 cents property tax hike to fund the project.
