Salisbury, Md. - Lorraine Culver Marvel, 69 of Salisbury passed away on Friday, January 25, 2013 at her home. Born in Salisbury she was the daughter of the late Clyde and Ruth Brown Culver. She was preceded in death by her devoted husband, Robert L. Marvel September 19, 2012.
Mrs. Marvel was a 1961 graduate of Snow Hill High School. She was a beautician for over 45 years. Her special interests included the outdoors, working in her garden, planting flowers, tending to her fish pond, fishing, crabbing and crafting. She was a member of the Degree of Pocahontas and was a former Girl Scout Leader.
She is survived by her children: Attorney, Robert L. Marvel, Jr. and his wife, Connie and Debbie Marvel and her companion Gorman Parker all of Salisbury; sister, Joyce Townsend of Salisbury; brother, Clyde Culver and his wife, Nadine of Trappe, MD; nieces and nephews: Kevin Culver and his wife, Suzan of Owensboro, KY, Steve Culver and his wife, Judann of Trappe, MD, Kimberly Smullen and her husband, Clint of Franklin, TN, Eddie Lynch of Pocomoke City, James Joseph Marvel Jr. of Salisbury and several great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brother-in-law, Mervyn Townsend. She also leaves behind her faithful companions and special dogs, Prissy and Roscoe.
A memorial service will be held Monday, January 28, 2013 at 7:30 pm at Holloway Funeral Home, with a visitation one hour prior to the service. Pastor Robert Welsh will officiate.
