MILTON, Del. - A New Jersey man is facing attempted murder charged after allegedly attacking his ex-girlfriend with a large knife, over money. On Thursday around 12:30 PM, Milton Police reported to a stabbing on Union Street, where they found the female victim suffering from multiple stab wounds. Milton Police immediately began searching for a suspect, and H.O.B Elementary School was locked down as a safety precaution.

Police say their investigation revealed that 42-year-old Tyrone Majette, of Jersey City, NJ, went to his ex-girlfriend's job for money. The two apparently got into an argument that escalated, when Majette reportedly punched the 26-year-old victim in the head, which knocked her to the ground.

Police say that while she was on the ground, Majette took the victim's purse and ran into a nearby shed, where he picked up a 10" knife, and went back to find the victim. According to the report, the victim, who was bleeding from the head, had moved into the backseat of a vehicle. Police say that Majette went into the front seat of that vehicle, and stabbed the victim multiple times in the neck and torso, and then fled.

The victim was taken to Beebe Medical Center where she underwent emergency surgery, and is now recovering. Milton Police and Delaware State Police searched for Majette.

During the search for Majette, around 1:15 PM, Police went to a Holly Tree Road home in Ellendale, where they spoke to someone inside, and 23-year-old Sheen Floyd in the backyard. Floyd is Majette's daughter, but Police say she denied knowing him, and said he wasn't at the house before the stabbing.

According to the report, Floyd starting kicking the windows of the DSP patrol car, when they took her out of the car, she kicked an officer in an apparent escape attempt. She was taken to Milton Police, where she was charged with resisting arrest, hindering prosecution, offensive touching of law enforcement officer, and disorderly conduct. She is being held at SCCI on $2,750 bond.

Majette finally turned himself in around 4:30 PM. He reportedly had been using heroin earlier in the day. After being treated for chest pains, Majette was charged with 1st degree attempted murder, 1st degree robbery, possession of a deadly weapon during commission of felony, possession of a deadly weapon by a person prohibited, 3rd degree burglary, and other related offences. He is being held at SCCI on $107,600 cash bond, and was issued a no contact order.
