WICOMICO CO., Md. - Employees from one local county made a large donation to a non-profit. The employees of Wicomico County gave a check for $15,230.60 to the United Way of the Lower Eastern Shore.

Kathleen Mommé, Executive Director of the United Way, said "we are extremely grateful to have the continued support of Wicomico County employees. This year's record campaign shows their commitment to help our neighbors in need."

The Department of Corrections team of co-coordinators and employees donated over $5,000 themselves, which is up 25% from last year.

"Once again, our family of Wicomico County employees has shown themselves to be truly engaged and committed citizens, sharing their spirit of generosity in record numbers," said Richard M. Pollitt, Jr., Wicomico County Executive. "I am so proud and honored to be associated with such benevolence and love of community and so grateful to the United Way for the tremendous work they do for all of us."
