SALISBURY, Md. - William R. Potts, Jr., 68 of Salisbury, died Tuesday, January 22, 2013 at Peninsula Regional Medical Center. Born November 14, 1944 in Wilmington, DE, he was the son of the late William R. Potts Sr. and Lois M Luffelman Potts. Mr. Potts was a U.S. Navy veteran who served during Viet Nam. He worked in phone sales with Bell Atlantic for a number of years and later for Delmarva Tele-Plus until he retired in 2010. Memberships included: Salisbury Jaycees, where he was a JCI Senator, Salisbury Rotary Club, and a former chairman for the Salisbury Festival and the Delmarva Chicken Festival.
He enjoyed numerous hobbies, including photography and wildfowl carving. He will be remembered by friends and family as a leader in the community, with extensive involvement with civic activities associated with the Delmarva Shorebirds.

He is survived by his wife, Gail Cropper Potts of Salisbury; daughter, Karen Lynn Potts of Salisbury; siblings and spouses: Thomas & Joan Potts of Exmore, VA, Linda & Bill Valentine of Accomac, VA, David & Sharon Potts of Chesapeake, VA, Lisa & Steve Murray of LaPlata, MD and Lori & Ben Blackmon of Timonium, MD; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, William & Shirley Cropper of Salisbury; mother-in-law Eleanor Cropper of Salisbury; numerous nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews and his pet dog, Champ.

A funeral service will be held Saturday, January 26, 2013 at 2:00 PM at Holloway Funeral Home with visitation one hour prior to the service. The Rev. Benita Harris will officiate. Interment will be in Wicomico Memorial Park in Salisbury. Memorial contributions may be made to Lower Shore Enterprises, 28475 Owens Branch Rd., Salisbury, MD 21804.
