MARDELA SPRINGS, Md. - Aileen Evelyn Tilghman, 90, of Mardela Springs, died peacefully on Monday, January 21, 2013 at her home. Born in Berlin on July 13, 1922, she was the daughter of the late Paul Moody Widdowson and Doris Pearl Moore Widdowson. She graduated from Mardela High School and attended Averett College in Danville, VA. Aileen worked for Red Star and later in her husband's groAilcery store, Tilghman's Grocery for many years. She was not afraid of getting her hands dirty and enjoyed working on the family farm. She was a long time member of Athol Baptist Church and the Farm Bureau Association. Her greatest joy in life was her devotion to her family and friends.

In addition to her parents; she is preceded in death by her husband; Marvin Olin "Dick" Tilghman and a grandson; Anthony F. Frazetti Jr. She is survived by three children; Karen S. Wittliff and her husband, James of Stonington, CT, Cheryl L. Frazetti and her husband Anthony F. Frazetti Sr. of Westminster, MD and Kevin Paul Tilghman of Mardela Springs; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and her brother; Paul Widdowson of Mardela Springs.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, January 24, 2013 at 2 PM at the Holloway Funeral Home in Salisbury with a visitation one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Springhill Memory Gardens near Hebron with Rev. Howard Travers officiating.
