Posted: Updated:

CAMDEN-WYOMING, Del. - Two brothers have been arrested and charged with gun and drug offences. According to Delaware State Police, detectives with the Drug Unit and Kent County Governor's Task Force went to a house on Tobacco Road for an active capias out of a local court, on 33-year-old Michael Cox.

Once on scene, officers took Cox into custody without incident. Michael's brother, 29-year-old Jason Cox, was also at the home, and police say he had two shotgun shells on him. Both brothers are apparently prohibited from possession, purchasing, or owning a firearm or ammunition because they've been convicted of felonies before. Police searched the house, where they say they found more than 500 grams of marijuana, 14 hydrocodone pills, 13 long guns including shotguns and rifles, a handgun, and several rounds of ammunition, along with drug paraphernalia. Police say that there were five children under the age of 15, at the home, who were turned over to a family member.

Michael and Jason were both charged with two counts of possession of a firearm by a person prohibited, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, conspiracy 2nd degree, possession of marijuana, 5 counts of endangering the welfare of a child, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Jason was additionally charged with possession of a controlled substance. Both brothers are being held at James T. Vaughn Correctional Center on bond, Jason on $40,100 and Michael on $38,100.
