DAGSBORO, Del. - Mrs. Genevieve Sherer Penuel, 80, of Dagsboro passed away at Milford Memorial Hospital on January 20, 2013. She was born in Roxana, Delaware to the late Edward Elijah and Susie Fish Rickards Sherer. She was married to Donald Penuel, her beloved husband, who survives her. She attended Frankford United Methodist Church, and was retired from Indian River High School where she had served as Cashier in the cafeteria. She was particularly dedicated to her family, and especially loved her grandchildren and children.  She loved baking, and shopping, shopping, shopping! She was a very kind woman, who always thought of others. She loved to watch her grand-children dance.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her daughters: Sherry Hudson, and husband Lin, of Dagsboro; and Dawn Truitt, and husband Mike, of Selbyville. She was preceded, in addition to her parents, by a son: Jack "Rick" Donaway, and a sister, Ruth Ann Hudson. She has 4 grandchildren: Brandon Donaway, and wife Holly; Chad Hudson, and wife Megan; Shane Truitt, and wife Michelle; and Jenna Truitt. There are 5 great-grandchildren: Collin Donaway; Rylee Donaway; and triplets MaKenzie, Logan, and Kyle Truitt. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and many many friends, as well as alumni of past graduating classes at the old John M. Clayton High, and Indian River High Schools.

Funeral Services are scheduled for 7 PM, on Thursday, January 24, 2013 at the Watson Funeral Home, 211 S. Washington St., Millsboro, DE where friends may call one hour prior for visitation with the family. Rev. Thomas Gross will officiate, and interment will be on Friday, January 25, 2013 at 11:00 AM at the Chapel of Delaware Veteran's Memorial Cemetery in Millsboro.  In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to either the Frankford United Methodist Church, PO Box 37, Frankford, DE 19945, or the Dagsboro Volunteer Fire Company, PO Box 128, Dagsboro, DE 19939.
