Harrington Police Arrest Same Man Twice In One Day

HARRINGTON, Del. - A Millsboro man was arrested, by Harrington Police, twice in one day. Officers responded to Thomas Street where someone forced their way into the garage of a home, and tried to get inside. The suspect damaged the garage door in the process.

An investigation lead police catch up with 18-year-old Benjamin Beyer, who was walking on Clark Street. The officers say they told Beyer to stop, but he continued to walk. When they caught up with him, and tried to arrest him, Beyer reportedly fought with the officer and resisted arrest. The officer had to use his Taser to take Beyer into custody.

He was charged with 3rd degree burglary, attempted theft under $1,500, resisting arrest with force, and criminal mischief under $1,000, and taken to Sussex Correctional Institute.

Shortly after leaving SCI called the officer back, after they reportedly found a pill bottle with 31 oxycodone pills in Beyer's groin area. He was additionally charged with possess a controlled substance in a tier 2 quantity and with an aggravating factor, promoting prison contraband, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Beyer also received an additional $3,500 bond, and stayed behind bars at Sussex Correctional Institute.
