SALISBURY, Md. - A Salisbury woman has been convicted of brutally slashing another woman's throat. Angela Bryant was found guilty Thursday of second degree attempted murder among other charges.

The charges stemmed from an incident on December 31, 2011. Investigators said Bryant slashed her victim's through down to the trachea. Thanks to emergency surgery to close her throat, the victim did survive.

"This is a significant, significant crime, violent crime," said Wicomico County State's Attorney Matt Maciarello. "When we have crimes like this, it's an embarrassment to our city and so we treat them very seriously and we're going to hold those offenders accountable."

A sentencing date has not yet been set.
