Traffic Stop Nets Heroin Bust In DE

MIDDLETOWN, Del. - A Rehoboth Beach man is facing drug charges after a traffic stop near the Biddles Toll Plaza on Route 1. Delaware State Police say They stopped 27-year-old Michael Denney's vehicle for traveling faster than the posted speed limit. During the stop, Troopers say they found 31.1 grams of heroin. The heroin was packaged in 1,244 wax envelopes. Denney was also found to be driving without a valid driver's license.

The suspect is now facing a slew of charges, including: possession of a controlled substance in a Tier 5 quantity, possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance and driving while suspended. He was committed to the Sussex Correctional Institute on $18,550 cash bail.

Two female passengers were also issued a criminal summons after drug paraphernalia was found in their possession.
