Gansler With Big Lead In Fundraising So Far

Posted: Updated:

ANNAPOLIS, Md. - A handful of potential Democratic candidates in Maryland's 2014 governor's race have filed campaign finance reports, and Attorney General Doug Gansler holds a big lead so far overall.

Gansler reported earlier this week that he has $5.2 million in his campaign account.

Howard County Executive Ken Ulman has the second most with $2.1 million.

Lt. Gov. Anthony Brown has about $1.6 million cash on hand. His campaign says he raised $1.25 million in the last year. His campaign also notes he was busy raising money for President Barack Obama, the Maryland Democratic Party and campaigns for ballot questions on Maryland's Dream Act and same-sex marriage.

Montgomery County Delegate Heather Mizeur said she will report raising $248,000 in 2012, with more than $380,000 cash on hand.
