Del. Governor Looks Towards Future At Inauguration

Posted: Updated:

DOVER, Del. - Gov. Jack Markell and Lt. Gov. Matt Denn officially began their second term in office.

Both men were officially sworn in at Central Middle School in front of family, friends, the General Assembly and nearly 800 supporters. With issues looming, Gov. Markell referenced the past and looked towards the future of the First State

"Now it's our generation's turn. This is our time," said Gov. Markell. "Let's continue to come together as neighbors as we are. Let's continue to put our aspirations for our children first."

The ceremony, normally held outdoors, was moved inside due to rain. We are told that the last formal public ceremony for a Governor to happen indoors as best can be remembered was for Russell Peterson back in 1969.
