Wicomico Council Member Brings Politics To The People

Posted: Updated:

SALISBURY, Md. - A local politician brought politics to the people Monday evening.  Wicomico County Councilwoman Sheree Sample-Hughes held her first "District One Citizen's Forum" of the year in Salisbury. The overall theme of the forums is "Creating Community Connections" and Sample-Hughes says that message is relevant now more than ever since District 1 was revised during last year.

Councilwoman Sample-Hughes was looking forward to "introducing myself as the local representative to those citizens who are now a part of district one and making that connection."

A part of her campaign promise, Mrs. Sample-Hughes has been hosting these forums since she was elected in 2006. "A lot of times citizens may come to council meetings and not get a chance to ask a question," says Sample-Hughes, and she hopes these meetings give residents a chance to learn more about their local politics.
