SALISBURY, Md. - Leonard Louis Winkleman, 74, of Salisbury, died on January 10, 2013 at Peninsula Regional Medical Center, surrounded by his family. Born in Philadelphia, PA on December 14, 1938 he was the son of the late George Albert and Freida Dick Winkleman. Mr. Winkleman earned his degree at the Philadelphia College of Pharmacy and Science and proudly served in the US Marine Corps. Leonard founded Ames Plaza Drugs and Apple Discount Drugs in Fruitland. He enjoyed traveling with his wife, reading and spending time with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife; Patricia Winkleman of Salisbury, two daughters; Debra Langdon and her husband Stephen of Bozman, MD and Susan Beauchamp and her husband Barry of Salisbury, four grandchildren; Heather Sinese and her husband Tony, Christopher Douds and Taylor and Hannah Beauchamp, two great-grandchildren; Connor and Katie Douds. He is also survived by two step-children; Dr. Michael Lewis and his wife Cassy and Amy Stone and her husband Nathan both of Salisbury, five step-grandchildren; Cadell, Dane and Beckett Stone and Simon and Kara Lewis all of Salisbury and his Aunt; Emma Cleary of Florida. He was preceded in death by his first wife; Roma Boswell Winkleman.
A funeral service will be held at 12 noon on Thursday, January 17, 2013 at Holloway Funeral Home. Friends may call one hour prior to the service. Elder Elbert Robbins will officiate. Entombment will be in Wicomico Memorial Park.
