Amidst Gun Law Talks, Allen & Marshall To Still Auction Guns

Posted: Updated:

PARSONSBURG, Md. - It's been a hot topic in our country over the past several weeks, gun safety legislation.

As Maryland politicians discuss changes in laws, a local auction house prepares for its annual gun auction.

Every year, Allen & Marshall Auction House draws in more than 1,500 people from all over the country looking to buy pistols, shotguns, rifles and modern assault weapons. Even in light of the recent tragedy in Connecticut, it's not keeping anyone away. We're told the interest level is even higher this year.

But an owner says they can't just sells guns to just anyone.

"We take every precaution, including sending serial numbers to the state police to run background checks on the firearms themselves to make sure they're not stolen and they're not from the wrong people," said Dave Allen, owner of Allen & Marshall Auction House.

The auction takes place on Friday, Feb. 1st. This coming Monday, leaders in Delaware will hold a news conference to unveil proposed gun safety legislation in the first state.
