SALISBURY, Md. - Local blogger Joe Albero officially filed his candidacy for Salisbury Mayor Tuesday.
He says it's time for a new leader to tackle the administration issues in the City.
"I would say you're not managing your City properly, you're not managing your staff properly. This is what I'm talking about: leadership. My leadership will be completely different than Jim Ireton's," he said.
If elected, Albero says the first thing on his agenda would be removing parking meters. He says his plan is to bring more business to the downtown area and turn part of it into an entertainment district, bustling with nightlife.
Albero is perhaps "best known" for his sometimes controversial blog sbynews.com. With some community concerns over how he covers local issues, WMDT asked him how he plans to address it.
"You have to look at what I do. When I put the honesty and truth out there, if people have a problem facing the truth, and there are going to be people who have a hard time with the truth, then it is what it is," said Albero.
Mayor Jim Ireton announced his bid for re-election last week. A reminder, the filing deadline to register to run for Salisbury Mayor or City Council is on January 15.
