SALISBURY, Md. - Ida Marjorie Malkin Emmerthal, 92, passed away on Saturday, January 5, 2013 at her residence in Salisbury. She was born and lived in Norwalk, CT, all of her life and was the daughter of the late Albert Denton Malkin and Ida Selina Steele Malkin. She was a lifetime member of the Shore & Country Club and Grace Episcopal Church in Norwalk, CT. She was an avid rug hooker and belonged to ATHA. Every summer she enjoyed spending time at the family cottage in Boothbay Harbor, ME. She was so well loved by her family and friends.
She is survived by 3 children, Gail M. Bartkovich and her husband, John of Salisbury, George M. Emmerthal and his wife, Julianne of Port St. Lucie, FL and Ann E. Everingham and her husband, George of Cortlandt Manor, NY; 4 grandchildren, Jonathan, Jennifer, Bryan and Michael; 3 great grandchildren, Arden, Ava and Asten; and a brother, Richard A. "Dick" Malkin and his wife, Marjorie of Topsham, ME.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Edward George Emmerthal, a brother, Edwin Steele Malkin and a sister, Alberta Kern.
Following cremation, private memorial services will be held at a later date.
