Shooting Suspect Wanted In Dover

Posted: Updated:

DOVER, Del. - A shooting suspect is at large in Kent County, after a victim showed up at the hospital with a gunshot wound. Dover Police say that a little before midnight on January 5th, a 22-year-old shooting victim arrived at the Bayhealth/Kent General Hospital ER, with a gunshot wound to his left arm.

Dover Police Criminal Investigations Unit investigated the S. Kirkwood Street shooting, and believe that the victim was shot with a shotgun that had bird or steel shot, which has small pellets inside. Investigators reportedly found a shotgun shell, that was consistent with the victim's wound, near 39 S. Kirkwood Street.

Police say that the victim would not cooperate with the investigation, or the identification of the suspect. They reportedly have no motive for the shooting. The shooter is facing 2nd degree assault, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony charges.

Dover Police are asking anyone with information, to call them at 302-736-7111 or Delaware Crime Stoppers at 1-800-TIP-3333.
