Coast Guard Cutter Returns To VA From Patrol

Posted: Updated:

PORTSMOUTH, Va. (AP) - A Portsmouth-based Coast Guard cutter is home following a counter-drug patrol in the Caribbean Sea.

Media outlets report that the Forward returned to Portsmouth on Monday morning.

The Coast Guard says the Forward's crew supported Operation Martillo during the 45-day deployment. They worked with a helicopter team and the crew of the Cutter Confidence to seize more than $50 million worth of narcotics during two interdictions of illicit drug trafficking.
