Opportunity Shop Re-Opens To Early Lines

Posted: Updated:

SALISBURY, Md. - A popular downtown bargain shop is re-open.

Located on West Market St., Opportunity Shop finally opened its doors to a line of excited shoppers. The store closed in October right after Hurricane Sandy hit because of issues they were having with their building.

Workers tell WMDT that even though it took longer than expected to get back on their feet, they are hopeful that business will pick up fairly quickly.

"We thought we would be closed about a month and it turned into a longer process," said Shelly Marshall, co-chair of Opportunity Shop. "We knew it would be like this because these customers, some of them have been coming here, I mean we've been open for 50 years and some of them have been coming that long."

The store originally opened to help Asbury United Methodist Church pay for a new church facility.
