OCEAN CITY, Md - Police have charged 70-year-old Bruno Michael Tucci, a former priest in Allentown, Pa for allegedly bringing a child to an Ocean City motel and committing illegal sexual acts 30 years ago.
Had Bruno Tucci been in Allentown still, he would have not been charged at all. Law says that Pennsylvania has statute of limitations and Maryland does not.
Currently living in Salisbury, Tucci has been in the State of Maryland for over the last 10 years. But police needed to get more deeper in the investigation before being able to charge the former priest.
"Back during the Jerry Sandusky Child sexual assault trials, we received information about a case that may have occurred here in 1981 involving a child abuse of some kind. We immediately started an investigation and found that there were some credible points that were made during the initial report, so our investigators found that they had enough information and enough evidence to charge Bruno Tucci with one count of Child Abuse by a custodian" Says Public Affairs Officer Mike Levy.
Tucci was not only a priest but also was a teacher at many high schools in the Allentown area.
