CAMBRIDGE, Md. - It's the second day at the Maryland Association of Counties conference in Cambridge.
Representatives from 23 counties in the state gathered at the Hyatt Regency to discuss several topics including emergency response. Officials say county governments are always looking for new ways to be more efficient and effective, especially when it comes to a natural disaster of tragedy.
"Recent snow storms and hurricane sandy effected us across the state, as well as other areas, so our main focus at this conference is talking about emergency management and how counties can be prepared," said Andrea Mansfield, Legislative Director of MACo.
The three day event concludes Friday, with more discussions on violence in schools and the workplace.
