SALISBURY, Md. - As we say hello to 2013, one family is celebrating the birth of a healthy boy and the first baby at Peninsula Regional Medical Center this year.
Proud parents Patty Miller and Daren Delarosa welcomed in Drake Owen Delarosa at 7:59 a.m. He weighs 7 pounds 11 ounces and is nearly 20-inches long.
We spoke with the mother about the birth of her second child and how she's feeling.
"I'm happy, this is the best New Year I'm going to have or will ever have," said Miller. "My mom and grandmother were like 'oh yeah, it's going to to be the New Year' and I don't care about that, I just want him out."
Each year, more than 2,000 babies are born at PRMC. Last year, the first baby was born Madelyn Gadoua at 2:41 a.m.
