Delmarva Residents Trying To Keep Their New Years Resolution

Posted: Updated:

Salisbury, Md - With 2012 soon to be in the books, many people will be looking to make and keep their new years resolutions. Among those resolutions include graduation, quitting smoking, losing weight and being more religious.

Many of these people have also had success in the past, which makes it more likely that they will keep their resolutions for this year.

"I quit drinking soda when I was younger for a whole year and I stuck with it so hopefully I'll do the same" Says McKenzie Davis, a bartender at Vinny's La Roma.

But why do it after the new year? Why not start the resolution now?

Many people believe that the new year is somewhat like a reset button, where one can start fresh. Others believe that it's just tradition.

"I think people make new year resolutions because they want to. It's a tradition and I don't think people do it during the year. They want a fresh start so they can get a clean start and be able to do all the lazy things they can now and come new year, they want to do everything right" says local resident Mariah Parks.
