WMDT 47 News - Senators Barbara Mikulski and Ben Cardin
announced Friday the approval of the "Super-Storm Sandy Supplemental
Appropriations Bill"
Reports say the bill would provide additional support to
states like Maryland that are still struggling to recover from the Superstorm
that hit the east coast 2 months ago.
Under the bill, it will provide immediate resources for
FEMA disaster relief and other organizations.
The bill will also provide FEMA Administrator Craig
Fugate with greater flexibility to weigh economic factors when determining
eligibility for Individual Disaster Assistance.
Maryland's Somerset County, for example, has an
unemployment rate of 9.4 percent.
