MILLSBORO, Del. - Dawn G. Stevens, 48, of Avondale, PA and formerly of Millsboro, DE passed away after a courageous seven year battle with cancer. Dawn graduated from Sussex Central High School; Delaware Technical and Community College, and the University of Delaware in 1988. A true blue UD football fan, she attended all the home games sharing box seats with her parents and friends.  She loved cheerleading in high school, and six years of the marching band and concert school bands, playing the flute and piccolo. Former employers were Mary Ann Interiors of Ocean View, and Calico Corners, of Wilmington. She especially loved the beach, the sea, and all therein, traveling with her beloved husband Darrin to warm places.  She was an avid reader and Civil War buff like her father. SHE WAS HERE… SHE LIVED… SHE LOVED… AND WAS LOVED… TO KNOW HER WAS TO LOVE HER!!!

She is survived by her husband of 23 years, Darrin F. Stevens, his mother Wilmetta; brother Jay and his wife Sharon and their three children: Jayne, Lizzie, and Seth. She is also survived by her parents: Barbara R. and Norris "Buck" Godwin; her sister: Elizabeth R. Donaway, and her husband, Bob.  Surviving her also are her niece, Ashley V. Donaway and her two young sons: Ashton and Avery; and an aunt: Judy R. Fischer, of Berlin and her daughters Amanda and Barbara, along with her other aunt: Doreen G. Shaner, and husband, Bill of Durham, NC. There were two special girls in her life: Summer and Sydney… Spaniels.

A Memorial Services is scheduled for Monday, December 31, 2012 at the Watson Funeral Home; 211 S. Washington St., Millsboro, DE  at 12:30 PM, where friends may call one hour prior. Pastor Ed Kuhling will officiate. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Delaware Hospice; 100 Patriot Way; Milford, DE 19963.
