Roads Still Closed At Bridgeville Train Derailment Site

Posted: Updated:

BRIDGEVILLE, Del. - Delaware Department of Transportation officials tell WMDT that the roads surrounding the accident, Wilson Farm Road and Railroad Avenue will remain closed for at least the next two days as crews are still removing gravel from the site.

Norfolk Southern officials confirm that train services in the area re-opened at 5:30 p.m. Thursday night.

A Norfolk Southern train derailed in Bridgeville around 9:30 Wednesday morning and 12 cars carrying gravel and a propane tanker went off the tracks.

Crews removed the propane tanker Wednesday evening, reportedly without any issues.
