Salisbury Middle School Wins Decorating Delmarva Tree Decorating Contest

Posted: Updated:

DELMAR, Del. - It's been a season of competition at the much anticipated Decorating Delmarva Holiday Festival of lights. Eleven local Middle Schools from Wicomico and Sussex Counties participated in the first annual Tree Decorating Contest.

All the votes are in and this was very close contest between the top 3 schools. The first place prize went to Salisbury Middle School! As a reward, the school was awarded 25-hundred dollars.

Decorating Delmarva organizers say that their first year has been a big success.

"We're very happy with what's happened so far this year, how the whole event turned out, and how the communitys' come to support in so many ways. Whether it's been through business that have believed in us to the schools, nonprofit's that have participated," said CEO/Founder of the Create 1 Dream Foundation, Mark Cathell.

There is still time to catch this festive event if you haven't already. Gates open every night from 6 to 10PM through January 5th, with extended hours on New Years Eve to 1AM for a New Year Celebration.
