WMDT 47 NEWS - As the new year rolls in, new laws are set to take effect in Maryland.
Those include recently voted on same-sex marriage and the DREAM Act.
Also going into effect is the Medical Orders for Life-Sustaining Treatment program, known as MOLST, which is an initiative to facilitate end-of-life medical decision-making. The Child Identity Theft Protection Bill, which allows parents to freeze their child's credit rating, will also become effective come January.
