Worcester Co. Officials Ask Residents To Report Sandy Damages

Posted: Updated:

WORCESTER CO., Md - With Somerset County receiving FEMA aid, Worcester County officials are asking residents to report any damages sustained from Hurricane Sandy.

FEMA denied the county requests for individual assistance after falling short of meeting a minimum requirement.

Before contacting FEMA, residents must already contact their insurance providers to report any damage because government aid is not available to replace losses covered by private insurance.

To report damages, call FEMA at 1-800-621-3362. Speech or hearing impaired individuals may call toll free at 1-800-462-7585.

Residents will be asked to provide his or her name, address of the property damaged, social security number, family's gross income, proof of residency, current telephone number and insurance information such as policy number(s) and agent's name.
