State of the County Address In Wicomico

WICOMICO CO., Md. - Moving now to Wicomico County, where Executive Rick Pollitt gave his annual "State of the County Address" this morning.

While Pollitt expressed a strong need to improve funding for education. He admitted that one of the ways to do that is to make Wicomico County more business owner friendly making it easier for the business community and revenue to grow.

Pollitt, said "the decoupling of the personal property tax rate from the property tax rate as well as eliminating the inventory tax. That apparently we are the only county left in the state to which it applies. I think that will free up resources in the business community to offer more jobs."

Moving into next year, Pollitt says the plan is to work closely with both county and state officials to assist business owners in Wicomico County.
