BETHANY BEACH, Del. - A charity has made a large donation to help feed local seniors. On Thursday, the Quiet Resorts Charitable Foundation made a $25,000 donation to CHEER's Meals on Wheels program.
CHEER gives more than 130,000 meals a year to homebound seniors in the Bethany-Fenwick area. This grant will provide about 7,000 meals to those in need.
The QRCF says "we strive to make an immediate and positive local impact with our grant." In the charity's 10 year history, they have given away more than $450,000.
Their next event will be the Hair of the Dog Run on January 1st. It is a 5K and 10K starting on Garfield Parkway and ending at the bandstand on the Bethany Beach boardwalk. Find more information at the Quiet Resorts Charitable Foundation's website and the Hair of the Dog Run website.
