LEWES, Del. - A fatal single vehicle crash is under investigation in Lewes.
Delaware State Police say just before 12:30 AM, on Monday morning, Richard Magree Jr., 46, of Rehoboth was driving his Jeep Wrangler on SR 24 when he apparently didn't follow the curve of the road and drove off the road into a utility pole. According to the investigation, this caused the Jeep to spin and hit another utility pole, before stopping.
Police say that Magee wasn't wearing a seat belt, and was partially ejected from the Jeep. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The crash is still under investigation, and John J. Williams Highway near Camp Arrowhead Road was closed for four hours while the scene was cleared.
