Brooke Mulford Cutting The Ribbon
SALISBURY, Md. - Its Official! The Wallaby Exhibit is finally here! On Friday, the Salisbury Zoo unveiled the first phase of the brand new Discover Australia Exhibit.
Our dear friend, Brooke Mulford, cut that ribbon at the ceremony. She has endured one of the toughest battles with Neuroblastoma, and recently relapsed. Brooke was given the honor of naming one of two wallabies at the zoo. West Side Elementary's 5th grade class raised the most money for the Just Zoo It Campaign, and were also given the rights to name the second wallaby. Here's what they came up with.
"We decided on a few and I decided on Skipper, because I like the name from Madagascar," said Brooke Mulford.
"My dad and I were researching names and I found the name "Erwin" on the internet and I liked that name," said Alannah Raygor, 5th grader at West Side Elementary.
The Wallaby Exhibit is funded by the Just Zoo It Campaign, Richard A. Henson Foundation and the Hallowell Foundation.
