Virginia Mary Massey Brittingham

SALISBURY, Md. - Virginia Mary Massey Brittingham, 87, of Salisbury, passed away on Thursday, December 13, 2012 at Salisbury Center Genesis Eldercare. Born in Willards, she was the daughter of the late Kenneth Massey and Laura Vickers Massey. She worked for several years as a seamstress for several shirt factories, including Rombro Brothers. One of the things she enjoyed the most was watching Austin grow up and her love of baking cakes, which she was known for.

She is survived by a daughter, Dorothy Ann LaCurts and her husband, Gerald of Willards; a granddaughter, Donna LaCurts Cannon and her husband, Robert of Salisbury; a great grandson, Austin LaCurts Cannon of Salisbury; and a brother, Richard Massey of Salisbury. She was also preceded in death by her husband, William "Billy" Brittingham; 3 sisters, Gertrude Ruark, Thelma Richardson and Anna Pennuel; and 2 brothers, Sonny and Oliver Massey.

A graveside memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 15, 2012 at 2:00pm at the Dennis Cemetery in Willards with Rev. Paul Sherwood officiating. Contributions may be made in her memory to the Wicomico County Humane Society, 5130 Citation Drive, Salisbury, MD 21804.
