39 Indictments Made In Wicomico County Drug Trafficking Bust

WICOMICO Co., Md. - We're following a developing story out of Wicomico County.

Police say they've uncovered a major drug trafficking ring. Here's what we know so far - The operation spanned beyond the tri-county area and involved cocaine, marijuana, heroin and prescription pills. We're told a grand jury has indicted 39 people on several charges for their alleged involvement, and that 15 suspects appeared in court on Thursday for bond hearings. Police say they expect to make more arrests. This has been a year long investigation that started with the Maryland State Police lead narcotics task force. The Wicomico County Sheriff's Office, the Salisbury Police Department and DEA all have officers assigned to the task force.
