WALLOPS ISLAND, Va. - A local NASA facility is getting ready to launch a rocket.
The Department of Defense is scheduled to launch a Terrier-Lynx suborbital rocket, from Wallops Flight Facility in Virginia, on Friday, December 14 between 9 and 9:30 PM. They say that the launch could be visible to residents in the mid-Atlantic region.
The backup launch day is December 18 between 8 and 8:30 PM. The NASA Visitor Center at Wallops will not be open for viewing the launch, nor will it be live streamed.
