Fruitland Area Water Contamination Update

Posted: Updated:

WICOMICO CO., Md. - Local officials say it could still take some time to clean-up contaminated water in wells in the Fruitland area, but tonight they tell us the problem hasn't spread to any additional homes.  Bottled water and activated carbon filters are still being provided, at no cost to residents.

The Maryland Department of Environmental Protection is still investigating the cause of the T-C-E contamination which started late this summer.

A public meeting is being planned for sometime next month.
