SALISBURY, Md. - A fire broke out at the Wicomico District Court building off of Baptist Street Friday evening.
Firefighters from Salisbury, Hebron and Fruitland were called to the
scene a quarter after 8 o'clock and found the roof on fire. We're told
the blaze was a decent size but nothing too serious. It was under
control by 9 PM. There have been some structural damages to the roof and minor damages to some
computers in the building.
Calvert Street, Baptist Street and Popular
Hill were all blocked off for about 2 hours - crews left the scene
shortly after 10PM.
No injuries were reported.
Work was apparently
being done to the roof earlier in the day when a small fire broke out.
Workers thought they had extinguished it, but it was still smoldering.
