Re-Assessing Damages In Somerset County

Posted: Updated:

SOMERSET CO., Md. - Officials in Maryland are seeking assistance for Sandy Victims. Friday afternoon, they asked those with damage to their home or business to reach out, so they can gather the information needed to appeal the denial of Individual Assistance. Local, state, and federal teams are now back on the shore re-assessing damages, and they tell us a simple phone call can really help.

During the press conference officials said "we really want people to call in to this number to report the damages they may have, uh, even if they think they previously reported that damage. So we need that information from that tip line to go back and really go through this with a fine tooth comb."

That number to call is 1-888-756-7836. Now officials want to make it clear, there is no guarantee, that the denial will be reversed.
